SAFE GREEN VEGETABLES FOR YOUR DOG!

Check out these green veggies safe for your pup to eat! Remember to keep track of the snacks you feed as they can add to your dog’s daily calorie intake.

Broccoli

High in fibre and vitamin C, this veggie is great served in small quantities as a treat. Serve in bite-sized chunks either raw or cooked.

Brussels Sprouts

Loaded with nutrients and antioxidants, these little power balls are great snacks for your pup. The best way to serve Brussels sprouts to your pup is by steaming, boiling or microwaving them. Don’t serve raw as they will be too hard for your dog to digest.

Celery

Filled with vitamins A, B, and C, this crunchy green machine contains nutrients to promote a healthy doggie heart and even freshen breath! Chop the celery into chunks and let your dog enjoy!

Cucumbers

Cucumbers are especially great for overweight dogs as they hold little to no carbs, fats or oils, but help to boost energy levels. They are loaded with K, C and B1 vitamins as well as additional nutrients. Cucumbers are also a great way to rehydrate your dog after a walk!

Green Beans

Full of fibre and low in calories, these little treats are great for a vitamin packed snack! Serve green beans chopped, steamed, raw or straight from a can (be sure to get the no-sodium type).

Peas

Peas are a tasty alternative to other fatty treats and are full of vitamins, minerals, protein and fibre. Snow peas, sugar snap peas and garden or English peas are specifically great for your dog. Serve fresh, frozen or thawed for a tasty and healthy treat!

Spinach

Spinach contains large amounts of vitamins A, B, C and K as well as Iron, antioxidants, beta-carotene and roughage (great for stimulating your dog’s digestive track). Chop, steam and serve this treat in small amounts.

Remember to consult your veterinarian with any questions regarding your dog’s health and dietary needs.
